First, another moment of silence for Heath Ledger. I'm always sort of torn about celebrity deaths because I know I should not let myself be too sad over people I have never met. But it's like ... every time somebody dies, whoever they were and wherever they were from, it leaves a hole in the universe that never really goes away. Especially when it's sudden like that - yesterday there was a living breathing person walking around, and now that person is gone. It barely feels like it can be real. Of course it is sad.
And now Grateful List.
41. I am grateful to have a job. I HAVE A JOB. AS OF TODAY, I AM AN AVON LADY. I MEAN SALES REPRESENTATIVE. WHO'S UNEMPLOYABLE NOW, KATHY?
42. I am grateful for storytelling in all its forms.
43. I am grateful for the sun.
44. I am grateful for my legs. Not that they're super-fabulous or anything, but I live with somebody who only has one. I can walk, I can run, I can kick things. It's good.
45. I am grateful for dried cranberries. They're like those Starburst fruit things except I can eat them.
46. I am grateful for my food allergies. Because without them I would not have discovered dried cranberries. And my diet would really, really suck.
47. I am grateful for music that makes me sparkle. And the fact that I am constantly discovering more of it.
48. I am grateful to be able to see things. Despite the massive disaster it started as. Last week I saw the aura of a cat (not my cat). It was electric purple.
49. I am grateful for my clothes.
50. I am grateful to know myself.
Today was eventful and tomorrow will be too. I'm going to bed. |
